Preparing for a Session
Preparing for an Organizing Session
There is not much you need to do to prepare for your organizing session. If we have done some coaching prior to the session, you may have had some homework. If we’ve determined some organizational products are needed during our consult you may need to purchase the suggested items, but for the most part you just need to relax and know that help is on the way.
The biggest part of preparing for a session can be working through the anxiety that may come up when you book your time. Allowing someone in your space can be very intimidating, especially if you are chronically disorganized. I encourage you to reach out to me if you are experiencing anxiety surrounding the process. It is a very normal reaction, and I would love to help you sort through those feelings.
Pets & Children
If you have pets, I ask that you make sure their litter boxes are cleaned and fresh and any accidents that may have occurred have been cleaned up.
I am very comfortable around dogs, cats and other animals, but if your pet is aggressive or might have difficulty settling down for my time there, I’d ask that they be kenneled or perhaps boarded for that time.
If it is at all possible, I recommend scheduling childcare for our session. It is tough to concentrate and relax when you also must juggle kiddos. As a single mom though, I completely understand this is not always feasible or in the budget and we will make do with whatever we need to do.
